Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our File Storage service
What protocols does your File Storage support?
Our File Storage service supports NFS (v3, v4), SMB (2.x, 3.x), and SFTP protocols, allowing you to access your data using the protocol that best fits your application requirements.
How does pricing work?
You pay only for the storage capacity you use, measured in GB per month. There are additional charges for data transfer out of our network and API operations. There are no minimum fees or upfront commitments required.
What is the maximum file size supported?
Individual files can be up to 16 TB in size, making our File Storage suitable for even the largest media files, datasets, and backups.
How is data protected?
Your data is automatically replicated across multiple availability zones within a region to provide high durability. We also offer optional cross-region replication for disaster recovery. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
Can I mount the file system on my on-premises servers?
Yes, you can mount our File Storage on your on-premises servers using a secure VPN connection or Direct Connect service, enabling hybrid cloud scenarios.
What access control mechanisms are available?
We provide fine-grained access controls through IAM policies, network security groups, and protocol-specific mechanisms like POSIX permissions and ACLs. We also support integration with Active Directory for SMB authentication.
